The deserted Dorasan Train Station in the DMZ is a poignant place where Korean hope for reunification is palpable. The Dorasan Station is the last stop on the KTX before heading into North Korea. The tracks run from Busan through Seoul almost to Pyongyang, North Korea, however the train itself goes no further than Seoul because of heated tensions between the north and south Koreas.
Other Korail (KTX) stations in the south look like this but bustling with commuters.
In 2002, U.S. President George W. Bush visited the station and gave a speech expressing hope for the future that families divided by war and the North/South Korean conflict would someday be united through this railroad.
